Internet Marketing
Author: Mark Bustamonte
I am very new to marketing on the internet. I choose to market a program (www.ffsi.com/46699) that I thought would be of benefit to society as well as be a good add on to my primary business as a mortgage broker (www.myfnmshomeloan.com).
I feel that I was fortunate that the company I choose to market was affiliated with a company that provides online marketing tools and what appears to be quite a bit of valuable training in the area of SEO basically for free or at a minimal fee (www.mbustamonte.veretekk.com).
In the past month I feel I have learned a tremendous amount and again being a novice have begun to implement some of the training and am starting to see some results, specifically in the area of what we call premium leads. These premium leads are verified SPAM free leads and have been a joy to work with. All the people I have contacted are very willing and open to discuss your opportunity and request additional info or simply sign up at some level.
One thing that I noticed in talking with several leads is that most have signed up with a company to market on the internet and are having limited success. Again most of these people have had no training on how to market on the internet. They signed up with a company where given a replicating web site and told what there potential income could be and that was pretty much it. When I start talking to them about web site optimization, link popularity or how to use traffic exchange sites I sense a real desire to learn more and a feeling of potentially how little they know. Now remember, I to am a novice, fortunately I am not learning to drive an 18 wheeler or someone might get hurt. What I am trying to say is, I to have a lot to learn in this new venture and probably know just enough to be dangerous but I am putting in the hours necessary to learn how to market on the internet before really promoting my product.
When I speak with these people I tell my experience and try to get across to them that maybe they should consider taking a step back and re-evaluating what they are doing, how they are doing it and what there expectations are.
First things first, learn all that you can about marketing on the internet, put together a marketing plan and then implement your plan. I see marketing on the internet no different than marketing from a store front on a main traffic way. Just because some company on the internet is offering you a "Turnkey" operation, does not mean you’re going to be successful or that it has the entire component necessary for you to be successful. It still takes a lot of work on your part and a commitment to succeed. |
