Battle the Bulge This Holiday Season

BATTLE THE BULGE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!
Even with big meals, sweets galore and continual family gatherings, you can easily battle the bulge this holiday season. HipFit Wear is here to give you 10 ways to stay fit over the holidays.
Make Time for Yourself! Of course your schedule will be filled with friends and family obligations, but in the moments you have to yourself, take advantage and de-stress with some activity. Go for a 15-minute jog or stretch in your living room.
Get Realistic! If you usually spend at least an hour at the gym but don’t think you have time to train for a full hour this time of year… do what you can. Go to the gym anyway and train harder and with more intensity and you’ll still feel great. Even if you only have 20 minutes – that is still better than nothing.
Walk It Off! Before or after your holiday dinner, ask a friend or family member to take a walk with you. This is a great way to burn off some of the holiday meal and it’s also a great way to catch up on life with friends and family.
Active Traditions! Make an outdoor activity a family tradition. Try building a snowman, hiking or snow-shoeing every year. You’ll still be spending quality time together as a family but you’ll be active outdoors instead of sitting around the table.
Don’t Start A Diet! If you try to exercise excessively and diet hard around the holidays, you could be setting yourself up for failure. Instead, relax and treat yourself occasionally. Enjoy your holiday favorites but do so sparingly.
Hydrate Yourself! When you’re busy running from one store to the next, the last thing on your mind is getting in some water. So bring a bottle with you in the car and sip off of it as often as possible. You’ll feel more energized quickly.
Space It Out! Instead of pigging out on all the goodies, try grazing throughout the day instead. You won’t feel stuffed and the best part is you’ll have the energy to workout or do an activity in between the meals.
Stop the Stimulants! Chugging a coffee or soda might hype you up when you’re tired but you’re bound to crash soon afterward. Exercise, clean eating and water will give you a natural high energy level that will last all day long.
Don’t Stress – It’s All Good! Maybe your meal didn’t come out just as you planned or you spilled punch on your dress. Laugh it off and enjoy your company. The holidays only come around once a year so have a great time.
Sleep! Make sure you find time to get enough sleep. Get some extra shut-eye and you’ll have lots more energy!
